Coventry City are to give their Ryton Lodge Training Ground a £50,000 makeover in the summer.

The Sky Blues have been at Ryton for many years and will spend the summer working on the training pitches as well as moving the gym and kitchen and sprucing up the lodge which is also a home to some of the Academy players.

Ray Ranson said of the work which taken ten to twelve weeks to the CT: "With all due respect, the training ground has not seen a lick of paint in ten years. "We are going to revamp the whole places so that we can attract the sort of players we want. "Showing them the Ricoh Arena is fine but the training ground is a problem at the moment.

The training ground needs to reflect our enthusiasm and ambition in the same way the Arena does."
