Coventry City forward Robbie Simpson is helping out his former club Cambridge United to raise funds for their youth development programme as part of the current 'Walk for Equality' campaign to raise funds and awareness.

Simpson came through the youth system at Cambridge City and United and has donated a City shirt which is currently available for bids on ebay.

Said Simpson: "I've known Jez George for many years and he has helped and guided me as a player both at Cambridge City and Cambridge United. He is totally committed to youth football in Cambridge and dedicates his time to developing and progressing players through to gaining professional contracts.

"It's typical of him to be drawing people's attention to this imbalance in funding for youth football in such a grand way by walking nearly 300 miles, and I hope for his sake, and all the kids playing football in Cambridgeshire, that he is successful. Good luck Jez - I hope the blisters aren't too bad, mate!"

Bids for the shirt end on Wednesday night.
