Racing Club Warwick booked their place in the Coventry Charity Cup Final at Coventry City FC's Ricoh Arena on Friday April 27th with a 1-0 win over Coventry Alliance Premier Division side Stockton.

At Southam United FC's Banbury Road ground, last year's finalists Stockton had the first attack and had a free kick cleared off the line by Anthony Hall in a game that produced record receipts.

In the 23rd minute, Racing Club Warwick took the lead when the Stockton defence got in a panic and Gavin Campbell could not hold Nathan Crawford's shot and Crawford stroked the loose ball into the net.

Dave Hoppitt should have levelled on the half hour mark. Stockton cleared from a corner, the ball came up to Hoppitt on the left but his shot hit the stanchion of the goal rather than going into the net.

Nathan Crawford fired wide from twenty yards and in first half stoppage time, hit a shot which deflected onto the keeper's right hand post for a corner.

Stockton had their keeper carried off at the start of the second half and were forced to put midfielder Luke Cole in goal due to having no keeper on the bench.

Stockton's Craig Watkin hit the bar with a free kick and Crawford flicked wide at the other end as both sides looked to spend as much time as possible in the opposition's final third.

Stockton sent their makeshift keeper up for two late corners but Racing Club had done enough to win.

The second semi-final is tomorrow night and sees Christ The King face Hawkesmill Sports at Coventry Copsewood FC at 7.30pm.
