Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that he is encouraged with Ryan Haynes signing a new three and a half year deal.

“It’s really encouraging news – I’ve said for some time that this club will be built on the foundations of the Academy and this is another step in the right direction" Pressley said to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole.

“We’re putting together a young squad who will hopefully stay together and develop for a number of years and Ryan has really impressed me since I came to the club.

“We gave him the opportunity to play when we had an injury crisis at left-back last season and he acquitted himself well and since joining the first-team group he looks an accomplished, established player.

“The footballing ability was always there and now he’s got the confidence and belief that means he is great back-up for Blair Adams and can go on to become a top-class player.”
