Coventry City manager Steven Pressley feels that Cyrus Christie will have been badly advised if he ends up playing in the MLS.

Three MLS clubs are reported to be interested in Christie who will be out of contract with the Sky Blues on June 30th and speaking about this to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Pressley said: “I think that for Cyrus a move to MLS wouldn’t be a step in the right direction in terms of a career pathway.

“I think his current agent has got a number of things he needs to answer to. Over the course of the last year I think Cyrus has been badly advised and if he’s faced with this type of scenario then I feel its been down to bad advice, I really do.

“We’re the type of club who like to develop our young players and give them an opportunity. And, ultimately, like at any football club players do want to move on and we’ve got no problem with that if it’s at the right time, and the player feels it’s right.

“But the one thing I do feel is that we’re happy for that to happen as long as the club are rewarded with the correct compensation. But if his agency decide to take him down that path it would affect the possible compensation amount and I would be hugely disappointed with them because they are not acting in the best interests of football, and they are not working with the football club.

“So I think the player will have been badly advised if the scenario is he ends up in America.”
