With the welcome news that Freddy Eastwood will take part in a behind closed doors friendly today to test his fitness and that Ben Turner will undergo a similar test next week and possibly another game a week later, comes the news that other players are slowly getting closer to fitness.

Striker Clive Platt (pictured below) is hoping he will be involved in the friendly encounters now he is back in full training following his own injury troubles.

Fellow striker Gary McSheffrey will be out for about another three weeks away as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury. Defender Richard Wood is still a month away from fitness as he battles his thigh strain and midfielder Gary Deegan (pictured below) is also still on the treatment table recovering from the thigh injury he sustained in the pre-season friendly at Leamington.
