Former Coventry City midfielder Danny Philliskirk has signed a new contract extension at Oldham Athletic.

Philliskirk, who was on a short term contract at the Ricoh Arena which was not renewed, joined Oldham Athletic and has gone on to score twelve goals this season.

He has been offered a two year deal with the option of a third year and signed the deal, telling Oldham's club website:  "I was given a chance at the start of the season. From where I was a year ago to where I am now, I am in a much better position.

"At the start of the season I was struggling for a club. Luckily the gaffer took a chance on me and I've played over 40 games this season which I'm grateful for.

"I can't obviously rest now. I've got to kick on and continue to score more goals in the next couple of seasons and contribute more to the team.

"I want to get more goals next season and we can easily push on from this unbeaten run and fly up the table."
