Robert Page has said that he wants to be considered for Saturday's FA Cup tie against Middlesbrough. The Welsh international defender came through the whole of City's Reserve game against Norwich City last night unscathed.

Speaking to the CET,Page said: "The main objective was to get through the reserve game unscathed with no bangs to my face and to test the mask out, and thankfully everything went OK. "I am confident about heading the ball again. I had a few testers, in particular one that was similar to when I did the injury in the first place when the lad has caught me slightly but there was no reaction to it at all, so that was pleasing. I felt comfortable fitness wise so overall I am pleased with it.

"In my eyes I will be in contention for Saturday, yes. Now that I have come through a full reserve game I will make myself available on Thursday for training because I want to get back in with things as soon as possible.

"Without doubt I would like to go straight back into the team. As a professional footballer you want to play, especially in games like Saturday's, playing against a Premiership team. That's what I am in football for to play in big games and competitions like the FA Cup.

"I can understand the predicament the manager is in because the lads have had some good results while I have been out and they have just had a 6-1 win as well, so if I miss out then I just have to take it and get on with it, but I most definitely want to get straight back in."
