Sheffield Wednesday, who face the Sky Blues in a vital league game on Tuesday night at Hillsborough, could face a possible points deduction.

The Owls will have to answer charges that they fielded six on loan players in yesterday's 1-1 draw with Stoke City.

Football League rules state that a maximum of five loan players (either short or long-term) can be named in a team's match starting sixteen.

The Owls sixteen included Graham Kavanagh (Sunderland), Ben Sahar (Chelsea) and Songo'o (Portsmouth) all started the game with on the bench  Adam Bolder (QPR), Enoch Showunmi (Bristol City) and Bartosz Slusarski (West Bromwich Albion).

A fine or points deduction are possibly penalties which Wednesday, who are third from bottom, could face.
