Out and about this Saturday

On the day that saw the Sky Blues go down 2-0 to Sunderland, dropping to 17th in the table, and the MD of the ‘big' club on the A45 publicly bemoaning in the mornings national press how they were mugged on the recent sale of a player, obviously forgetting their own antics earlier in the season, the  scores from the Championship and non-league results saw Derby still in top slot in the Championship with a 1-0 win at Southampton.

Dion Dublin and Darren Huckerby scored for Norwich in a 2-1 win over Leeds and there were wins for Crystal Palace,West Brom, QPR and Preston with draws at Colchester,Leicester,Stoke and Wolves. 

Locally, Nuneaton Borough won 2-1 at Blyth Spartans, but Rugby Town lost 2-1 at Wealdstone and Bedworth lost 1-0 at home to Chasetown.

In the
Midland Alliance, leaders Leamington lost again at Biddulph 2-1 but

Atherstone beat Market Drayton 5-1,Stratford beat Causeway 2-1 and RC Warwick drew 0-0 with Oldbury.

After losing to Christ The King in the CT Cup,Coventry Sphinx lost their second cup game in seven days going down to a 4-2 home defeat by Bartley Green in the Midland Combination League Cup Fourth Round.

Coventry Copsewood are still in the competition beating Massey Ferguson 4-1 after extra-time.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, Alveston lost 1-0 at Brereton, Nuneaton Griff drew 0-0 with Meir and Southam beat Castle Vale 2-0.

Both first division sides lose. Leamington Hibernina lost 3-2 at Heather and Stockingford lost 2-1 at home to Thimblemill Rec.

In the Second Round of the Challenge Vase, Coventry Sphinx Reserves won 4-1 at Cadbury Reserves whilst Warwick Town drew 1-1 at Droitwich in a Division 2 League game.
