One Year On

Richard Shaw has put the disappointment of how his eleven year tenure at Coventry City ended to become Millwall's Player Of The Season.

The defender was one of those harshly treated by Micky Adams and decided that after a testimonial against Celtic, he would look for a club nearer his home in Surrey.

He agreed a one year deal with Millwall and has shown Lions fans the same sort of performances that City enjoyed this season to help lift the team from possible relegation to a top ten finish.

Shaw has also been coaching Millwall's reserve team and a contract to cover both coaching and playing is believed to be being put to the centre half.

Millwall's Football Chairman Stewart Till said to the South London Press: "I hope we can do a deal on a new contract and give him the chance to win the award again next year!"

Millwall have again been linked with a move for Andy Whing. Walsall and Brighton are also reported to be interested.
