On The Game

We caught up with Matty from Bangor in Northern Ireland after the 2-1 defeat by West Ham. He said: "Having been to the last couple of home matches, I can say this cup match was by far the best. "Coventry were unlucky and should have won it.

"We had most of the possession in the first half and had many chances but could not put them in the net. "Tabbs's header in the second half got the crowd going and the game was then played with even more tempo.
"Unfortunately though, a scrappy goal being deflected was scored by West Ham. Coventry had a couple more chances until stoppage time when West Ham won it and left us gutted.

"Overall, the game was great with plenty of action and the atmosphere was immense."

Iain Dowie said; "I do not want to bemoan the referee's decision but yes there was a handball. I'm sure Rob Styles will ring me to say he got it wrong.
"But I don't want to take away from the huge performance, effort and committment of the players who represented Coventry City tonight.

"For periods, we looked good and but for a whisker,we might have had a second goal. "You don't sometimes get what you deserve and this happened tonight.

Alan Curbishly said: "Coventry were the better side but we got a bit of luck . "They did us to what we were hoping to do to Coventry and full credit to them."
