Last updated : 14 September 2016 By CNS Sport

An Early Day Motion to try and keep Coventry City FC playing within the city of Coventry will be heard in Parliament on October 11th.

The Early Day Motion is as follows:

“That this House notes the uncertain future facing Coventry City Football Club with the agreement with Wasps Holdings Limited allowing them to play at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry due to expire in 2018.

“Further notes with concern that talks between the football club and Wasps Holdings Limited have broken down amidst ongoing legal action between Sisu and Coventry City Council.

“Notes that this development could see Coventry City Football Club forced out of the city unless productive talks resume.

“And calls for goodwill on all side and for talks to resume with Ministerial and Football League oversight so that the future of the football club within the city of Coventry can be secured.”

This will be debated in Westminster Hall on Tuesday, October 11th from 11am to 11.30am under the name ‘Future of Coventry Football Club’.
