The Malteste international is a free agent after his contract at Coventry City ended on June 30th.
According to Sky Sports, Mifsud's representatives have had talks with Notts County who have former Sky Blues Kasper Schmeichel, Jonnie Jackson and Lee Hughes on their books.
Speaking to the Nottingham Evening Post, County manager Ian McParland said: "I know he (Mifsud) is available and he would be a good addition to our squad, but let's wait and see."
