Coventry City Reserves Birmingham Senior Cup tie at Stourbridge was called off at 7pm. Both sets of teams plus supporters including a number from Coventry arrived at Amblecote only for referee Andrew Penn to postpone the game due to a hard patch on a corner of the pitch.

This is the third postponement of the game and twice supporters have got to the ground before it has been called off.

The view of those present was that the game should now be switched to the Ricoh Arena, but it will be up to both clubs to sort this out.

Of the games played tonight, former Sky Blue Jonny  keeper Tuffey was in goal for Northern Ireland U21 against Wales in a  4-0 home defeat at Glentoran's Oval ground.

Richard Duffy and Craig Bellamy played for Wales first team in a 0-0 draw with Northern Ireland at Windsor Park in Belfast.

Stuart Pearce's first game in charge of England U21's finished in a 2-2 draw with Spain. The visitors took a two goal lead but were pegged back late on by goals from David Nugent and Leroy Lita.

Michael Mifsud is in Malta's team to face Austria tomorrow.

Locally, the Coventry Charity Cup Semi-Final between Dunlop and Nuneaton Griff at Allard Way was abandonedat half-time with the score at 1-1. Stef Jones scored for Nuneaton Griff in a game which according to those there should never have started. Both sides will replay the game next Tuesday.
