No Promises On Signings

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman is making no promises about signing any more players.

The paperwork for Sammy Clngan should be back from the FA and Football League today and he will go into the squad for the trip to Dunfermline but as for any more players coming in, the City boss is not making any promises.

"Signing players is probably one of the most difficult parts of the job so I can't say, 'Yes, we are going have three new faces in'," Coleman, who is working within a very tight budget, said to the CT.

"I can say, 'Yes, we are going to invest in at least three new faces,' but that doesn't mean we are going to get them. And that's one thing I have learned in football - it is frustrating.

"There is to-ing and fro-ing and once you get one or two agents involved there can be problems and we have lost a lot of deals because of agents.

With Danny Fox, sold by Mr Ranson to Celtic, cover is needed and Coleman added: We have only got Marcus Hall so we need someone else in that position because it is dangerous going with just one.

"You can't pin your hopes on one. Jordan Clarke played well again on Saturday and I can't tell you how pleased I am with him. He's been tremendous but it is not fair on him to pin our hopes on a 17-year-old with no experience, although I think he is going to be good.

"So we need to be looking for someone because we can't just rely on Marcus to play 46 games in what is a long and hard season."
