Milton Keynes Dons could be sent to Coventry on Saturday without Dele Alli and former Coventry City captain Carl Baker.

Alli, who is the second top goalscorer in League One,  has returned to Tottenham for treatment on an ankle injury which is expected to keep him out for at least six weeks.

Carl Baker, whose appearance at the Ricoh Arena would have put a few on the gate, could be rested for the game. MK Dons boss Karl Robinson has the luxury of squad rotation and told Scott Kirk of MK Web: “I might rest him and I don’t have any sentimental value at all,”

“My job is to get the team over the line and I think Carl out of anyone needs a rest more than anybody.

“I don’t know whether he’ll play and it’s his turn to be rotating.”
