Ninth Place For City

Coventry City have moved up to ninth in the Championship table after their 2-1 victory over Doncaster Rovers tonight at the Ricoh Arena.

QPR still head the table by six points, despite being held 0-0 at home by Millwall. Second place Cardiff were also held 0-0 at home by Crystal Palace.

Norwich City are in third place after a 4-3 win over bottom side Leicester City, whilst fourth place Watford lost 3-2 at home to Swansea.

Braces from Chris Iwelumo and Chris Eagles gave fifth placed Burnley a 4-0 win over Hull City, who face the Sky Blues on Saturday.

Reading are up to sixth after a 1-0 win over Ipswich Town.

Bristol City had Jon Stead score but they are second bottom after losing 2-1 at Portsmouth.

Game of the night was at Elland Road where Leeds United led 4-1 but ended up losing 6-4 to Preston North End for whom Jon Parkin scored a hat-trick.

Other games saw Gordon Strachan's Middlesbrough lose 3-1 at Derby, Forest and Sheffield United draw 1-1 and Scunthorpe draw 0-0 with Barnsley.
