Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that he is hopeful that it will be a week to ten days before he is in a position to bring new players into the club.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Mowbray said: “I wouldn’t say I am up against it, just working hard to make things happen.

“It will come and I’m sitting here pretty confident. It might take another week or so but that’s OK.

“It’s not about what happens in the first two weeks, or three or four weeks, it’s about the next 40-odd weeks.

"I think the foundations are there but we just need to add the bits around it that are hopefully going to score the goals and determine how strong a force we can be.”

He added: “I have had lots of conversations with people but nothing’s going to happen for Saturday and probably nothing for Tuesday either, really. But after that I would hope the wheels will start turning.

“It’s not ideal and as I said a couple of weeks ago I’d liked to have got the team bedded in but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. But we’re pretty hopeful that things will start rolling in the next week to ten days."
