Most Senior Ref For City V Scunthorpe Game

The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's home Championship fixture against Scunthorpe United on Saturday is Paul Taylor.

A member of the Hertfordshire RA, Paul is the most senior official on the National Referees List which he joined in 1990 after starting his refereeing in 1977 as a way of supplimenting his student grant.

He has been in charge of matches such as the Champions League qualifier between Dynamo Kiev and Red Star Belgrade and the international between Nigeria and Venezuela.

Mr Taylor has had 21 matches so far this season and has shown 83 yellow cards and eight red. His last City game was the 2-1 win at Norwich last season.

Previous City matches in the last ten years include the 2-1 defeat at Bristol City on Jan 1st 2008, 1-0 home win v Norwich on March 8th 2008, the 2-1 defeat at Ipswich on September 12th 2006, 1-0 defeat at Palace on September 20th 2005, the 1-0 home defeat to Crewe on Nov 27th 2004, a 1-1 draw at Norwich on November 25th 2003. the 0-0 at Brighton in August 2002, the 2-0 home win against Reading on December 26th 2002, the 2-2 home draw against Preston on October 31st 2001 and the 2-1 win at Southampton in August 2000.

Assistants are Andy Hendley from Birmingham & Alan Parker from Derbyshire . The Fourth Official is Nick Hobbis from West Midlands .
