Former Coventry City striker Clinton Morrison will be leaving Colchester United, it has been announced.

Morrison is out of contract and is leaving the Weston Community Homes Stadium based club after tomorrow's game at Walsall.

The former City, Birmingham City, Sheffield Wednesday and Crystal Palace striker told The Green 'Un:

“Colchester is a great club, and I have no regrets,” insisted Morrison. “However, I am not staying.

“I could have probably stayed, having spoken to the gaffer (Joe Dunne), but I’m coming towards the end of my career and I want to play football for another two or three years.

“I want to enjoy myself playing football. I’m not being disrespectful, but I haven’t really enjoyed myself in the few years I have been at Colchester.

“I’ve enjoyed bits of it, don’t get me wrong – it’s a great dressing room with some great lads – but I want to play football, and I know I can still play football and score goals, given the right place.”
