Colin Cameron needs to play seven more first team matches this season in order for the second year of his contract to kick in.

The midfielder who joined City from Wolves after the Sky Blues offered a one year deal plus the extension of another year if he played enough games.

Cameron has been plagued by injury this season and hopes that he can impress Iain Dowie in reserve matches and possible first team outings in order to be at the Sky Blues next season.

Said Cameron: ""I'm playing for a new contract but I believe in my ability. I know if I am fit and playing I can be an asset to this club.

"I would need to start all seven games to reach 23. But I will do everything I can to impress the manager and show him what I can do because I want to be part of things here."
