More Bench Time For Westwood

Coventry City keeper Keiren Westwood is again expected to be on the bench for Ireland's game against Bulgaria tomorrow afternoon at Croke Park.

Manchester City's Shay Given is expected to start in goal but Westwood has enjoyed his time on international duty telling the CT: "It is great meeting up with the international lads and there are a lot of Championship boys in there, including a few of the Reading players, and we play them when we get back, so I am sure there will be a bit of banter and bit of stick flying around.

"I like going over to Ireland and it is a great honour and I am absolutely buzzing that I keep getting in the squad, and long may that continue.

"We play Bulgaria at Croke Park first and if we win our home game then a point away to Italy would be fantastic and would keep us in there because we are on the same points at the moment. "So a win would set us up nicely because it looks like we could be in the driving position to qualify."

Westwood is not down hearted about not starting and said: "I am just starting out on the international scene so I am not frustrated not to be getting a game. "Just going away with the squad is an honour in itself and I am made up just to be training with the other lads, which is great because they are people you know all about and I love being there. And you never know what could happen.

"If someone gets injured then you can find yourself on the bench, and that's why I am just happy to be involved because anything could happen and you have to make sure you are ready if needed, and one day I might get my chance."

You can see the game live on Sky Sports.
