Michael Doyle - The London Supporters Club Player Of The Year

Last updated : 06 May 2018 By CCLSC

Michael Doyle is the Coventry City London Supporters Club Player Of The Year.

This is the 41st consecutive year that the presentation for the Coventry City London Supporters Club Player of the Season award has been made.

It is, in our opinion, a truly unique award, as it captures votes from members for every match that they attend or watch live on TV, throughout the season. Each member is entitled to vote for their top three players in each game.

This season our winner had stiff competition. Jodi Jones was terrorising defences early in the season, before his cruel injury, and during that time he still received sufficient votes to finish third.

Second place went to Marc McNulty, who had a superb season with several man of the match performances, and goals, as the regular season concluded.

This season’s winner, Michael Doyle received a record number of 899 votes. He was voted in the top three in an incredible 46 out of 47 games. Not surprising when you recall his goal from the half way line, his quick free kicks and the encouragement he provides the rest of the team! The complete Captain Fantastic.

A truly remarkable achievement which reflects his performances on the pitch.  This and his passion for football and the great football club that we support set him apart and make him Our Man of the Season.

Finally. enormous thanks go again to our own Man of the Midlands, Barry Chattaway, for his diligent chasing and collating of the votes.
