Gary McSheffrey has said that he hopes City will have players back for the trip to Derby County on Saturday.

Roy O’Donovan and Shaun Jeffers partnered McSheffrey in the cup tie against Southampton on Saturday whilst fellow forwards Lukas Jutkiewicz, Clive Platt and Cody McDonald sat out the game with injuries.

Speaking to Sky Blue Player, McSheffrey hopes that tomorrow’s reserve team game against Chesterfield will give players coming back a chance to gain some match fitness and said: "It would be nice to see some players return before next weeks game and I think we will probably have a couple back.

"Some will hopefully get 90 minutes in the reserves game against Chesterfield on Tuesday and regain some of that fitness.

"Hopefully the manager can have a healthy squad for next week and give him some big decisions to make if we get some players back in the side."
