McAllister Gets The Sack For Christmas

Former Coventry City player and manager Gary McAllister has been sacked by Leeds United.

Adopting his style of management which won him few friends at Highfield Road, The Leicester supporting Scot, who celebrates his 44th birthday on Christmas Day, took over at Elland Road from Dennis Wise in January.

Leeds were beaten in the play-offs by Doncaster and this season were knocked out of the FA Cup by non league Histon before embarking on a run of five defeats includung the 3-1 loss at MK Dons yesterday.

Former City defender Stuart Pearce is hoping that his contract to coach England U21's will be extended. The contract expires in the summer.
