Leon Clarke has said that he would like to be settled at a club.

Coventry City are club number fifteen for Clarke since he started as a youngster at Wolves in 2003 and speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, the striker said when asked about settling at a club:  “It would be nice because I have been to a lot of teams.

“It never really fazed me before but I really would like to establish myself in a team for a number of years and hopefully I can do that here.“I don’t know why I’ve had so many teams. When I went to Charlton I just didn’t play. I went there after doing well at Chesterfield and I was told I had to work hard to get into the team but I didn’t really get a chance.

“I don’t think I was given a fair crack of the whip because I only played five games since last January. Sometimes it’s just opinions and you can go out of favour with managers; sometimes it’s form but there are numerous reasons why it hasn’t worked out at other teams.

“When my loan at Scunthorpe finished in November Charlton gave me permission to talk to other teams and literally within a week of me moving back Coventry got in touch.

“I spoke to the manager and he said positive things about the club, the lads and what he wanted to do to progress, and it was a positive conversation. It was just a case of waiting for the transfer window to open and then sign a two-and-a-half year deal, and I am happy to have done that.”
