Leicester's Promotion Party On Hold

Leicester City's promotion from League One party was put on hold after a 2-0 defeat at Peterborough United this lunchtime.

Second placed Posh are now only four points behind Leicester with six matches remaining thanks to goals from Lee and Whelpdale in each half.

Millwall are third with 73 points from 39 matches after a 1-0 win at Crewe thanks to an injury time goal. Fourth placed MK Dons lost 2-0 at fifth placed Leeds United whilst Scunthorpe are in the final play-off slow with a 3-0 home win against Colchester United.

A number of City supporters were at Wembley to see England beat Slovakia 4-0. Wales lost 2-0 to Finland in a World Cup Qualifier whilst Northern Ireland beat Poland 3-2 in a game which saw disturbances and fights with police after the match, Scotland lost 3-0 in Holland and Ireland drew 1-1 with Bulgaria.

Michael Mifsud was booked in Malta's 3-0 home defeat by Denmark.

Craig Reid scored for Newport County in a 1-0 win at Bognor Regis Town.

Locally, Rugby Town lost 1-0 at Gloucester City. In the Southern League Midland Division, a massive crowd of 1020 saw Atherstone hold Leamington to a 0-0 draw. Nuneaton won 2-1 at Sutton Coldfield Town with a Robinson own goal and one from Hadland in the final minute.

Former Coventry City youngster Keiren Fitzharris scored for Bedworth United in a 3-1 win at Rothwell Town.

Coventry Sphinx are down to sixth in the Midland Alliance after their 3-2 home defeat against Westfields. Leaders Market Drayton won 4-1 at Cradley Town and with second placed Barwell only drawing, the Shropshire side lead the table by twelve points.

Stratford Town beat Bridgnorth 4-1 with a brace each from Jozsef Jakab and Kevin Brooke.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, Coventry Copsewood drew 4-4 at Coton Green. Luke Williams, Heal, Tom Muldoon and PJ Gordon were all on target for Carl Nolan's side.

Nuneaton Griff lost 2-1 at home to Meir Kings Arms whilst Massey Ferguson drew 0-0 at Walsall Wood.
