The seventh annual Legends Day organised by the Coventry City Former Players Association has been deemed a great success.

Forty nine former players from Trevor Lewis who played in the 1940's to Lol Harvey, Brian Nicholls, Ronnie Farmer, Bobby Gould, Ernie Hunt, Billy Rafferty, Quinton Young, Colin Stein, ian Wallace, Jimmy Holmes, Paul Culpin, Dave Bennett, John Williams to Claus Bech Jorgensen who scored the first goal at the Ricoh Arena, attended and had lunch in the Eon Lounge.

Steve Waggott spoke on behalf of the club and there was a speech from CCFPA President Joe Elliott before Billy Bell, who is on the hard working committee which works all year to raise funds to bring these players to Coventry,  and Brian Roberts spoke to some of the guests including Bobby Gould, Ian Wallace and Guest Of Honour Tommy Hutchison who had driven down from Scotland.

The day followed a usual pattern of events and at half-time, the Former Players were introduced to the crowd at the City V Swindon game before some filed into Show Bar in the Casino for a final light hearted meet the fans event.

This was again compared by Billy Bell. The players received thunderous applause and there was more for speeches by Tommy Hutchison (video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDqV2mYEcJU&feature=youtu.be), Bobby Gould, Roy Barry, Ian Wallace and a rendition of Moon River by Ernie Hunt (video : http://youtu.be/faxoFiyZ_Yw ) as well of a chorus of the Sky Blue Song which brought a tear to a few eyes.
