League Games Comes First - Coleman

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has said that the league must remain the priority for the Sky Blues this season.

Getting promoted would bring the club vastly more revenue than winning the FA Cup and with City taking on Sheffield United tomorrow night at the Ricoh Arena and Coleman said to the CT: "I'm not trying to be clever or flippant but I swear to you that I do not care about Chelsea right now - we'll start thinking about them on Thursday morning.

"I don't take the FA Cup lightly - it's a competition I love. "But we've got an outside chance of making the top six if we keep doing what we're doing so right now Sheffield United is the only game that matters.

"In fact, it's now our biggest game of the season because if we want to make a late charge for the play-offs it's vital we get three points tomorrow night.

"And I'd be saying exactly the same thing if we were playing Chelsea on Wednesday and Sheffield United on Saturday.

"The league is our No.1 priority, getting out of this division is all that matters. Everything else is a bit of icing on top.

"Of course the fans are thrilled about playing a team like Chelsea but there's been an unfortunate habit at this club of showing a little bit of excitement and then everything comes crashing down. "I don't want to be part of that.

"I want to progress as a manager and I want the players we've got to progress as a team and a club.

"Our most important trip to Wembley would be the play-off finals because that's the objective of the club, to get back into the Premier League.

"I think the highest we've finished since we've been out of the Premier is eighth and we were 12 points off the play-offs then so we've got to bridge that gap.

"There's no easy way do that; you have to work hard every day and if you do that you have the chance of achieving some things."
