Coventry City defender Richard Keogh has confirmed that he has indicated that he would like his contract at the Ricoh Arena to be extended.

Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner after the 2-0 defeat to Doncaster Rovers which booked City's place in League One for next season, Keogh said: “The club are looking to extend my contract. I am sure the manager will sit down with the club to see where the club are going and I am sure it will be a positive meeting.

“If somebody comes in with an offer that’s out of my hands – I can’t control it if people like or admire me as a player

“I don’t want to think about that too much at the moment. I want to get my head right for the pre-season ready to attack the league.

“Right now I’m just gutted like everyone else. I don’t think I could do two worse things in one day – get sent off and relegated.

“I am more disappointed for the fans because they deserve better. But every cloud has a silver lining and I am hoping we can bounce back for them because they’re the ones who deserve it the most.”
