Coventry City captain Reda Johnson has said that Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena was not just for the Gillingham and he wants City supporters coming back in big numbers to every game.

“I was really proud to lead the team out in the first game back in front of the wonderful fans who were shouting and cheering from the first minute to the last,” said Johnson to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.

“They gave everything, just like us. We had 27,000 fans turn up and there was only one thing we could do for them.

“It was so important that we won that game because we want the fans to come back for every single game, not just because it is the first game back at the Ricoh.

“If they are real supporters and real fans they have to come to every single game and cheer us like they did against Gillingham, giving the best for us.”
