Coventry City's exciting young striker Shaun Jeffers has had his loan spell at Cheltenham extended after City boss Aidy Boothroyd agreed the England under 19 international to the request.

Coventry City and Cheltenham Town have agreed that Jeffers can stay with The Robins until the end of January, but there is a 24 hour recall clause in the deal.

Jeffers has impressed at Cheltenham scoring twice in six games and while there he was called into the England under 19 squad and made his international debut last week in a win over Slovakia at Crewe.

Cheltenham manager Mark Yates told the club web site, "It's a big boost for the club because he has done ever so well. He's getting stronger every day and it won't be long before he'll be starting games."

"I'm delighted to secure his services and I have to thank Coventry and Aidy. They know we're looking after him and he's doing very well here."

"He's a lovely kid and he only wants to learn and get better. This move will be of great benefit to him especially after making his England U19 debut last week. We're delighted we have been able to keep him a bit longer."
