Shaun Jeffers made his England international debut tonight when he came on as a 68th minute substitute for England U19 in their 2-0 win against Slovakia at Gresty Road, Crewe.

England led from a 16th minute goal from Liverpool's Michael Ngoo in front of a crowd of 3,013.

In the 68th minute, Jeffers who was watched by his City Academy boss Greg Rioch, Cheltenham boss Mark Yates plus family and friends and a whole host of scouts and agents including Cyrille Regis, came on.

Two minutes later and Jeffers was sent crashing by a lunge from a Slovakian defender and John Joe Shelvy curled home the resulting free kick to give England the win.
