It's Going To Take A Lot Of Hard Work To Get Us Back - Robins

Coventry City manager Mark Robins has said that the Sky Blues will have to put in a lot of hardwork if they want to play sides with the quality of Tottenham Hotspur on a regular basis.

A full strength Spurs side had City three goals down by the break and although the Sky Blues rallied in the second half and kept a clean sheet, they were still beaten 3-0 and went out of the FA Cup.

City boss Mark Robins told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Poole: “You have to try to learn something from every game.

"They are a top team, a real class act, and we know that next time we play a team like this we can’t afford to stand off them and allow them to dictate because once they get their tails up they are very difficult to stop.

“There was a touch of rabbits in the headlights about us at the start and after eight minutes you could fear a rout. We struggled to cope with their magnificent movement because we couldn’t put any more men behind the ball and we just couldn’t get out.

“In the second half you saw more of the team we want to be because we ended up a little bit closer to them, won the ball back a bit better and could be a bit more adventurous.

"We got some belief but the game was over by then and we need to make sure that we play like that from the start if we are to compete in a one-off game, let alone get to the stage where we can think about playing teams like this on a regular basis.

"We’re still considered a big club because of the support but at the moment we’re a third division side and it’s going to take a lot of hard work if we are to get back to a level that’s acceptable to us.”
