With the deadline given by the board of Coventry City to Mr Dhinsa to "Put Up Or Shut Up" now passed, Birmingham based BBC Midlands Today ran a story on their evening news bulletins saying that the club had hired private detectives to check out Mr Dhinsa's background.

These detectives "found" no evidence of a £4m house, that Mr Dhinsa did not possess nineteen cars and neither of his businesses havy any tangible assets.
Mike McGinnity was interviewed and said: "Those fans who believe that he will come in and invest a lot of money I feel sorry for them. "As we've said all along, we have reservations whether he possesses the wealth he says he has. "If Mr Dhinsa fails to put up or shut up and he persists in seeking publicity off the back of this club then they club will take further action".

When asked by Kevin Reid from BBC Midlands Today if that meant legal action. Mr McGinnity added "Whatever action,we need to make him go away"

BBC Midlands Today comissioned an investigation into the accounts of Mr Dhinsa's Athlone Group and Lawrence Moore from Piley & Florsham Accountants said that these companies were in breach of company law and there was no indication that either company were worth anything or have carried out any trading.

Mr Dhinsa who had been advised by his lawyer not to speak to the media said he would respond as soon as possible.
