"I'm very proud of my players and yes the result is disappointing but I thought they applied themselves extremely well," said Coleman.
"I was a bit disappointed with the manner of Chelsea's second goal and the way the referee allowed Alex back onto the pitch in the build up but our lads stuck at it and on a couple of occasions we almost got one back.
"On the day I think we were beaten by a better team but I couldn't ask for any more from either the players or the fans. I thought they were both magnificent."
