Keiren Westwood, Aron Gunnarsson and Marlon King have moved on but Coventry City midfielder Gary McSheffrey will still be keeping in touch with them.

"We all wish Westy (Westwood), Gunnar (Gunnarsson) and Kingy (King) all the best for the future," McSheffrey told the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter.

"They're all top players and were presented with the opportunity to play at a high level so you can't blame them at all, but these things happen in football, players come and go and we all wish them all the success in the future.

"I am sure I will keep in touch with them but the club still has some very good players here and I am confident we can do well this season especially with pre-season going well.

"Portugal was one of the best pre-season training camps I have ever been to. It was a lovely venue and it was great to get away with all the lads and spend some time together but it was hard work.

"So far we have been playing pretty well and I thought it was a really good performance against Hinckley United last week so hopefully we can build on that and
get even better.

"All the lads are starting to find their feet. We are all looking pretty fresh at the moment and looking forward to the new season."
