I Look At The League Table 400 Times A Day - Coleman

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has said that whilst he is not getting carried away, he wants to enjoy the season for all the right reasons.

Speaking to the CT's Alan Poole, Coleman said: "Any team that gets 15 points out of a possible 18 is in spectacular form but when you look at the bigger picture we have been on a very good run since November.

"That's testament to our players who have been doing a great job and its the sort of form that gives you a feeling of confidence and makes you start to believe that anything is possible.

"We could have a great end to the season in front of us and why can't this club have a little bit of success and enjoy a season for all the right reasons rather than celebrating staying in the league?

"We have the opportunity to go into the last half a dozen games where the nerves, excitement and anxiety are there for the right reasons and that would be great for our supporters who have been crying out for a situation like this.

"What happened last year when the season tailed off is more incentive to say that we don't want that again this year - it is very much alive and we have got a much better squad this year than last.

"To be honest, I am looking at the league table maybe 400-500 times a day thinking about all the ifs, buts and maybes. I can't help it and I am sure that the supporters are doing the same. The Chairman is doing it and the players are doing it so why not? We studied it enough when we were at the wrong end of the league so it's only natural that we will do it now when we are looking ahead rather than over our shoulders.

"We're not daft and nobody at the club is getting carried away because we know that we have got eleven really tough games left to play. But we have given ourselves a chance to finish in the top six and although a couple of the teams around us have got games in hand, we can affect the situation if we keep winning like we did at Peterborough last week.

"There are always injuries and suspensions at this time of year and teams are fighting for different things . At the moment, we are in a positive fight and long may that continue."
