Hughes Staying Away From International Comeback

Coventry City midfielder Michael Hughes has laughed off talk of an international recall.

Hughes made 73 appearances for Northern Ireland with his last game in 2005 when he was sent off for his part in a spat with Wales' Robbie Savage.

"I'd got to 73 caps and it would have been nice to have got to 75. "Even if I did get a recall, I don't think I would do it but it would be nice to go back and say goodbye to the fans at Windsor Park,"said Hughes to the BBC.

"That's the one thing I regret not being able to do because they were great. I had eleven ot twelve good years playing for my country and I thoroughly enjoyed it."
