Although there are some media reports today that Cardiff may make a late bid for the Welsh international, Both City and Wolves have agreed the deal which will be for the maximum 93 days and see him play for Coventry until the new year.
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey told the Express And Star: "It was agreed and we started the paperwork, but no-one at Coventry was able to complete the deal."
Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman said: "It has dragged on a bit, but I've spoken to Sam and the chairman has spoken to Wolves and we think by next week Sam will be with us until at least January."
