Gunnarsson And Clingan In International Action

Aron Gunnarsson played 81 minutes ttonight for Iceland in their World Cup Qualifier 1-1 draw against Norway in in Reykjavik.



Fellow Coventry City midfielder Sammy Clingan played the whole game for Northern Ireland in their World Cup qualifer in Poland. Former City keeper Jonny Tuffey was on the bench for the match which finished 1-1.

David Healy, whom City had try to buy and take on a loan, also started. He had told the Sunderland Echo: "There were a few possibilities for me, one of which was Coventry City. "I spoke to the Coventry manager Chris Coleman, but, in the end, I decided to stay put."

Keiren Westwood was on the bench for the Republic Of Ireland in their World Cup win against Cyprus but Leon Best was not included. Former Sky Blue Robbie Keane headed home the winner three minutes from time.

A number of City fans were at Wembley to see England beat Slovenia 2-1. Lampard and Defore scored for Fabio Capello's side.
