Green Travel Plan Update

Last updated : 03 January 2006 By Covsupport/SBT
There have been sone changes to the Dedicated Bus Scheme operated by Mike De Courcey Travel on match days. Service 802 has been withdrawn due to the lack of use. The Charterhouse Pub has been allocated to Service 803 and the Biggin Hall Hotel to Service 801. Members based at the Gosford Park Hotel have been requested to use the pick up point designated for the Charterhouse Pub. Letters have been sent to all members outlining the changes.

Approximately five hundred supporters have joined the scheme with on average,250 supporters using this mode of travel for home games.

The Private Hire Bus Scheme implemented by the Sky Blue Trust has been endorsed by Arena Coventry Limited. Fans in Rugby,Warwick,Leamington,Kenilworth and Bedworth have all benefited from the scheme. In particular, the Kenilworth Supporters Group has excelled in this initiative by completely filling a coach. The success of their venture augers well for the future and they have already procured a second vehicle to cater for the extra demand.
The Sky Blue Trust are actively supporting the petition organised by Coventry City Labour Councilllors, lobbying for the introduction of a rail service to the Arena. Common sense must surely prevail eventually and we look forward to the day when the relevant governing body acts accordingly to sanction the much neded facility.
