Give King A Chance - Boothroyd

Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has pleaded with City supporters to give Marlon King a chance.

If there were plans to divide and rule the City support then it has clearly worked as the Sky Blue Army has never been so divided as it is now.

So far, reports indicate that only one person has returned their season ticket but others have said they will stay away. Covsupport News Service understands by speaking to supporters and reading the views of others that some City supporters have said they will attend matches but won't cheer if King scores or support the club by buying merchandise etc or getting involved in sponsorships and the like until King and/or Boothroyd are out of the club or until King/Boothroyd and Chairman Ray Ranson are out of the club.

Speaking to the CT, the City manager said: "All I'd say is give the bloke a chance and the opportunity to play a part in the team to help us.

"It is an exciting time and I know there will be a lot of interest because of the situation, but the thing is I have always found no matter what controversy follows individuals or team groups, if those individuals just get their heads down and do what they are paid to do, which is win, then time can be a great healer.

"I have got full faith in him and think he is a great signing for us and that's it. Let's get on with it and see what happens.

"We have come off the back of a good win and now it is up to us to build on that and stay with the pack until we start to play consistent football, but we are not quite there yet, but we will get there."
