Gary Hopkins has been talking about the proposed take-over which given heart to City suporters all over the world.

Mr Hopkins who hails from Wood End and watched City's 1-1 draw with Norwich told the CT; "Our goal is to make sure Coventry is in the Premiership and, if it is not, then to make sure we are always, always, competing to be in it with strong resources, a manager you can support with money for players and a sensible business strategy to make sure you are always, always competitive.

"Our goal is to get in the Premiership and stay there - it is as simple as that, because that makes life a whole lot easier. "If we get to the Premiership and stay, the economic benefits to the city of Coventry are huge. "The fans are ecstatic, the model of the Ricoh Arena and every facet of it goes through the roof as well, the team does well. "So every ship rises.

"We can make that happen but to do that we have still got some way to go and some restructuring, but that's what I am personally committed to trying to make happen, and it has taken a lot out of my personal time to do it. "It is a labour of love but I do see the business model that can work if it all falls in place.

"And my hope is that it does."
