Coventry City defender James McPake is to have surgery on his hernia in Germany to speed up his recovery time.

By travelling to Germany and having the surgery there, the Scot hopes to recover quicker and be back for the trip to Crystal Palace on April 7th if not before.

Said Chris Coleman to the CT: "James is going to Germany on Monday for some surgery on his groin which will only keep him out for a couple of weeks.

"He could have had it done here but it will be four to six weeks but it will be two if he goes there because of the type of surgery they do.

"We have got a two week break after today's game and that will give him time to get back although I am not saying he will be ready for the Reading game. But it is important that he gets some games under his belt towards the end of the season and he will be ready for pre-season."
