Funding CCFPA's JH Guide Dog Puppy Still Needs Some Support!

Last updated : 18 July 2017 By CCFPA

The Coventry City Former Players Association would like to remind City supporters that we are still quite a bit short of raising the £5000 needed to breed and train a guide dog who will be named after the late, great, Coventry City icon (and Association member) Jimmy Hill. We would be very grateful for our readers to continue their help in achieving our aim!

We are over half way, having collected money on our coaches to the Sky Blues Wembley Checkatrade trophy win last season as well as including donations at Legends Day 2017 and its raffle, but there is still a need to collect more funds! CCFPA has also made a donation directly from our own Association funds but sadly is short of the donations we hoped to get at our postponed Golf Day 2017 last June.

Jim, Dietmar & Ronnie at the Centre

The project began with a visit by CCFPA’s chairman Jim Brown and former players Dietmar Bruck and Ron Farmer to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Breeding Centre at Bishops Tachbrook. ‘Harty’, one of the dogs they met there was again at the Ricoh for Legends Day along with a couple of friends and sniffed out a number of donation opportunities meeting fans as they did a circuit of the Arena with CCFPA’s Sarah-Jane Morris and a couple of staff from the centre during the Sky Blues win against ‘the Posh’!

If you would like to help us make the final push to reach our target to raise the funds for puppy Jimmy to be born and trained you can do so by clicking  https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/JimmyHillPuppyFund or Text CCFP67 £Amount to 70070. We are still only a third of the way to raising £2500 there!!
