Campaign For A National Review Of Police And Stewarding

Football Supporters Federation Caseworker Amanda Jacks is urging supporters to be more vociferous about poor policing and stewarding at matches.

Social media on Saturday and Sunday was awash with complaints about some of the stewards in the East Stand during Coventry City's 3-1 defeat to Swindon Town with tweets like this: "Blocking kids views, overzealous ticket checking, refusing a carer entry."  just one of many.that were directed towards the Sky Blue Trust Chair Moz Baker, who also urged supporters to report instances to the club and tweeted: "they (Coventry City) need to do something about it. Hearing far too many similar tales."

CNS Sport has also heard of a number of season ticket holders who won't be renewing due to the treatment they have received.

Amanda Jacks tweeted: "Football policing has improved & I stand by that BUT there are still too many incidents that fans shrug off.

"A national review is needed & fans themselves need to be more vociferous about both poor policing and stewarding.

"Fans behaviour is rightly scrutinised by the media but what's lacking is same spotlight on policing, stewarding & crowd management.

"Perhaps more caution would be exercised if those responsible for crowd management thought they'd be on front pages.

"Finally, fans should stop expecting & accepting poor treatment and take advantage of help we can offer in challenging it."
