Former Coventry City youngster Jermaine Grandison has signed a new contract extension.

Grandison joined Shrewsbury from City in 2011 and briefly left the club before returning last year.

The Birmingham born defender has signed a new deal with the Shrews which covers the next year and he told Shrewsweb: "I'm just looking forward to next season now and getting back to how I was playing before my injury.

"I missed pre-season last year so this year I'm really looking forward to it, getting my fitness levels up and getting game time as well.

"It wasn't the best of seasons for us but now we've got to look forward and hopefully get promotion back to League One."
