Flowers Gagging For New Signings

A bouyant Tim Flowers is eager to bring in more players following the completed signings of Arjan De Zeeuw and Ellery Cairo. "We are champing at the bit," said Flowers to the CT. "If we can get some money in place we have got people lined up and agreed and we can go bang, bang, bang.

"If we can add a few quality loans along the way then I feel we will have the makings of a really competitive side and the rest will be down to us to deliver."

Unfortunately, it seems the cupboard is temporarily bare as Paul Fletcher also told the CT: "We've spoken to Leon Best and Gary Borrowdale but nothing is done as yet. "We are delighted to support Iain Dowie in signing De Zeeuw and Cairo and we will be sitting down with him this week to look at the situation and any other ways we can help.

"We understand his frustration that he has not got more money to spend at this moment in time and that he may have to take free transfers and the loan route for the time being."
